On December 1st 2008, Ken was awarded Gold Star Salon Winner in the Dorchester hotel Londons fellowship luncheon awards. Dubbed as the 'oscars' of the hairdressing world it celebrates the creativity of the british hairdressing industry.

ken picton wins visionary award 2008

The alternative hair show 26th anniversary was the platform to launch the visionary awards in aid of leukaemia Research.
On sunday 19th october at the Royal Albert Hall twelve finalists each presented a model who was judged on their hair cut, make up, styling, deportment and total image.The evening was in recognition of the patron Vidal sasson's 80th birthday.
a panel of international judges selected Ken the winner and was presented with a trophey and will go on to undertake a full presentation at the alternative hair show to be held in Vienna Austria in may 2009.
