Hi! Let me tell you a bit about my take on running the Ken Picton salon...

I’m a glass half-full person, but with the ambition to ask, ‘why can’t we have it all perfect?’ I’m whole-hearted in the way I run my business; I’m a leader with a teamplayer mentality. Hairdressing? We’re on an adventure and my intention to be the salon that really nails it.

I opened my original salon, called the Zoo, in 1990, moving to the Cardiff Bay area in the year 2000 from when the salon was renamed Ken Picton. My passion for excellence has never changed; everything IS about the attention to detail and exceeding expectations!

Linzi - Salon Director

I began working with Ken in 1999 after meeting the man himself whilst  hairdressing in London. I've been fortunate enough to travel overseas a lot with Ken and the team.  I also do a lot of hairdressing shows and fashion shoots. I get great pleasure from seeing my clients really happy with their haircut, and giving them advice on any hair issues they might have. For me beautiful hair comes in all shades and styles… from short crops to long flowing hair…  from natural curls to modern cuts, so long as it's healthy and you wear it well!

I've been in hairdressing for 24 years and have worked at Ken Picton salon since1998. I specialise in cutting and adore being creative. I love meeting people and have come across some fantastic individuals and made great friends along the way.  My career has taken me all over the world before settling here. I can't imagine doing anything else!

Louise - Senior Director

I came on board here at Ken Picton about 15 years ago. Having achieved my NVQ levels 2 & 3 I’ve worked here as a stylist ever since. During my career I have also gained further qualifications and I am now a trainer/educator and an assessor for our own apprentices in our salon training centre. I love the variety of being able to colour and cut hair. I like meeting people and enjoy nothing more than a good old catch up.

I've worked with Ken for 11 years. It’s a big part of who I am and has helped me become a successful hairstylist. I love the fact that I have real variation in my work from cutting to colouring, finishing to wedding hair. This allows me to take my client through the whole experience of the salon. Making clients feel special and giving them a great haircut means a lot to me and gives me enormous job satisfaction.

Christina - Director

I've been in the industry 14 years and am experienced in working with all hair types. I specialise in cutting and styling, and putting hair up for bridal styles is a particular favourite of mine. I've worked in Australia, London and Cardiff, and wherever I am, I love making a client feel great and seeing the finished result. What gives me most pleasure about my job is that I can be creative, help people look and feel great, and get to meet all kinds of interesting people!

Kelly - Director

Hi. I've been in the hair and beauty industry for 15 years, and am approaching my 10th year at Ken Picton. I am as enthusiastic as I was when I started - if not more!
Since the birth of my two children I work part-time, but I still give 100% to the salon. I love working as part of a great artistic team which enables me to gain different skills from my colleagues. Working alongside Ken Picton himself is great as his knowledge of the industry and his many years of experience are invaluable. Plus his enthusiasm and vision does rub off on you.
A big part of my hairdressing philosophy is to push the boundaries and get myself to the next level. This includes a genuine passion for bridal/dressing hair. I work very closely with Lara (our fabulous make-up artist) to make a bride's day as special and stress-free as I can - you name it, Lara and I have done it! I've also had the pleasure of doing a cover shoot for a wellknown bridal magazine, and I loved every minute. 
I enjoy every aspect of my job, which allows me to offer a full range of hairdressing services to my clients.
